At Desert Chapel Christian School we have the privilege of providing an excellent education to your children. As a Christian school, we have the added benefit of being able to include God in all we do.

Our curriculum is focused on building a strong foundation in phonics, 阅读, 写作, 和算术. Our standards and goals at each grade level meet and exceed currently established standards in California. We take advantage of the benefits of modern technology, but we also remain committed to the best practices of strong, traditional approaches to education.

Our classes use A Beka 课程 along with Bob Jones University.

At the 幼儿园 level, our students are studying the A Beka 课程 along with some supplementation from Bob Jones 课程. 

First grade focuses on the study of math, 语言, 带着手册阅读, science based on God's creation, 历史, 和圣经 with take home 圣经 stories. 

Second grade focuses on several areas of study including 数学ematics, 阅读, 拼写, 英语, 地球科学, 美国历史上, 和圣经. 数学ematics focuses on basic concepts including adding with carrying, 减去 with borrowing, multiplying and division, 基本几何, 分数, 测量, 时间和温度. 阅读 curriculum consists of focus on chapter book 阅读 such as Little House in the Big Woods and Charlotte’s Web. In 英语 we focus on the ability to write and punctuate short stories and poems, identify the parts of speech, 资本化, 标点符号, 缩写, 和单数/复数. 圣经 study is focused on character teaching and the life of Moses.

Third grade is a transitional year where students start to be graded on a regular A - F scale in preparation for the upper elementary grades. We focus on increasing 阅读 comprehension and timed exercises, as well as the study of 美国历史上. Writing becomes an important part of the 英语 curriculum, as well as 拼写. In 科学 we cover all aspects of God's creation. 阅读 comprehension, growth in phonics skills, and timed 阅读 exercises increase 阅读 skills. 圣经 focuses on helping students develop a Christian worldview. Students are taught about the meaning of baptism and are given the opportunity to participate in baptism in the Spring. 历史 focuses on a chronological approach to American history, which helps students remember important dates and events, as well as gives them the right kind of heroes and valuable models of good character. Students also study the states and locations. Language focuses on 资本化; 标点符号; correct sentences; proper word usage; using synonyms, 反义词, and homonyms; and recognizing nouns and verbs are emphasized. Dictionary skills, journal entries, and creative 写作 skills are also developed.
在数学, students focus on multiplication and division; story problems up to four steps; Ro男人。 numerals; averaging numbers; standard measures; equations; and adding, 减去, 简化分数. An abundance of 审查 problems is provided as well as supplementary problems to be used in a variety of ways to meet individual needs. 科学 covers the most special part of God’s creation, 男人。, third graders learn about the hu男人。 body, with an emphasis on the sense organs and how they work. The 六年级 is now a building block and MS-preparation grade at Desert Chapel. Sixth grade introduces the responsibility and freedoms of being on our integrated 中间 and 高 School campus whilst also preparing our students for the academic challenges in which 中间 school introduces.
